The idea of forming a center for architecture and urban planning
“The forerunner of the Center ADA”
The first cities that were created before six and thousands of years ago today are symbols of our civilization. Most of today’s cities will outlive us, but we have an important role in their own time to take advantage of a unique opportunity to create an exciting and functional urban environment, for ourselves and for the generations that come after us. Every day, people are moving from smaller towns and villages to the cities, and by 2050, experts estimate that 75% of the world population will live in the cities.
Today public life part is in our living room. The information in fractions of a second is coming to us and can bring thousands of people on to the square in a second.
In the context of the city and the above-mentioned phenomena there are born issues related to culture, democracy, transparency, environmental protection…..
These are the topics as our target for which we want to create an open and free platform for the exchange of experiences between different stakeholders, such as government sector, non-governmental organizations, educational institutions, independent professionals from the fields of architecture, urbanism, art, sociology as well as citizens as final users of the city.
Our mission would be to provide a stable basis in establishing the center.
We are one time cell and as such we need to create space by all the principles and standards of the profession, as well as to the needs of all its users. We believe that the existence of the center would have positive effect on the establishment of communication between all participants and at the same time ensure better participation of citizens. Also, the center of this type would allow monitoring of all modern trends, through publications, exhibitions, round tables, workshops for children and youth. In addition to the acquisition of knowledge such events to the city of Mostar brought a new image, a center would certainly ensure financial sustainability.
